The California Market Center (CMC) announced the addition of two prominent wholesale gift and home decor companies to its quickly growing Gift & Home Showcase. Rosalie & Friends and World Buyers will be joining Melrose International in debuting new showrooms at the CMC for its Gift & Home Market, January 17–23, 2012, reinforcing the CMC as Los Angeles' thriving, destination for gifts, holiday product and home furnishings, as well as fashion and accessories.
The new showrooms will be located in the new Gift & Home Showcase on the CMC's 12th floor, C-wing, which already features Drexler Collection, Tainoki Fine Furniture, and two other showrooms who will be announced prior to January's Market, in addition to a number of well-known companies who will be renting temporary showroom spaces within the Showcase. The new Showcase is located directly beneath renowned showroom California Marketing Associates (CMA) in Suite C1300, which features over 40,000 square feet of merchandise, including collections from companies like Raz Imports, Surya, Fiesta Toy, Delton Products, Creative Co-Op, 180 Degrees, and hundreds more. The new Gift & Home Showcase now establishes the CMC as the strongest seasonal and holiday product selection on the West Coast. Additionally, gift boutiques and retailers will find over 800 children's and maternity product lines and hundreds of fashion accessories lines to browse through, as well thousands of fashion lines for endless creative merchandising possibilities.
The business potential presented within this dynamic intersection of gift and home merchandise with fashion lines is a key factor in the growth of gift & home furnishings showrooms at the CMC. “The gift business is changing and there is a definite tie between the fashion and gift markets, therefore we feel it is in our best interest to move to the CMC, where fashion, gift, and home are already merged” says Robin Seidel, president of Rosalie & Friends, Inc.
In business for over 34 years, the new Rosalie & Friends multi-line showroom will feature a diverse collection of jewelry, collectibles, books, decorative, fashion and garden accessories, furniture, tabletop, and general gift products. Just a few of the noteworthy lines they represent include The Tinbox Company, Squire Boone Village, 2 Lumps of Sugar, Split P, S.S. Sarna, House Parts and Top It Off.
Additionally, the new corporate showroom for World Buyers, a company manufacturing their own product lines for over 20 years, will bring over 50 categories of merchandise to the Gift & Home Showcase. More specifically, they carry an eclectic assortment of traditional, contemporary, kitsch, and ethnic merchandise. They are best known for their paperweights, wall art, photo frames, fashion accessories, jewelry, candles, tealight holders, light strings, porcelain, Buddha gifts, butterfly garlands, parasols, among other products.
“By moving to the CMC, we are looking forward to increasing our exposure to fashion buyers who have not frequented us in the past” says Marie May of World Buyers. “The CMC is an ideal place for our business because of its great location, convenient services and stores that will ultimately benefit our buyers.”
Buyers are already expressing excitement about the new Gift & Home expansion at the CMC. “I have always liked shopping at the CMC because of its unsurpassed amenties, including parking, ease of going from one floor to another, all the restaurant and cafe options, and the inviting showroom spaces” says Michael Olcott, owner of Olcott’s. “Besides those perks, the combination of gift, accessory and fashion industries in one building makes the CMC a great place to shop. We look forward to more manufacturers moving over.”
Additionally, buyers can look forward to easy and convenient parking at the CMC, with plenty of spaces in our underground garage, and free parking validation, given with proof of a purchase from a CMC showroom. Furthermore, the CMC partners with local hotels during Markets to provide buyers with discounted hotel rates and door-to-door shuttle service. Added onsite amenities include our food court, restaurants, banks, shipping services and Buyers Lounge with free internet, business services and a quiet, private place for buyers to work and rest.
“We are excited to see these prominent companies choose the CMC as their new LA headquarters,” says Sue Bhanubandh, senior vice president of leasing at the CMC. "They are key figures in the industry and this new Gift & Home showcase is only the beginning of a major revitalization happening in Gift & Home resources at the CMC.”
The next CMC Gift & Home Market will begin on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the CMC, and will run through Monday, January 23, 2012. This Market will coincide with LA Fashion Market, starting Monday, January 16, offering even more resources and crossover merchandise possibilities for gift, home decor, and fashion retailers.
